let's see...

personal
well I'm planning on moving this summer. don't know where to yet though might just throw a dart at the US map and whatever hits that's where I'm going (lol) We'll see how that goes I suppose. I just need two rooms (bath+another).

gaming
picked up MK a bit again. Almost LD in non sc and maybe I'll hit one of those damn SC's to get myself toward LB there. (currently 68th now after a ridic long break really)
Also my GLB team is headed toward the playoffs in what will hopefully be a pretty great season overall and we've got a pretty good shot at winning the trophy--if we don't it'll be one hell of a disappointment.

rant
the NCAA women's tournament. It's really really stupid for the higher seeded team to have to play the lower seeded team at THEIR OWN BUILDING. duke and auburn while could bitch really got annihilated so it's kind of hard to say something as a result. Still really gay.

Hilarious usually the women's tourney is chalk and the men's is upset city and it's the reverse this year (well uconn's still winning anyway so it doesn't matter)

I'm sure I had something more exciting to post in here but forgot oh well.

@#$@#$@#$ ebay

damn their 12% final sale rate+.25 insertion fee. This is killing me. I can't sell a lot of my things as with this kind of rake it's a killer. Hey yeah I'll sell things and hand a bunch of my $ to you (I'm not even including paypal fees in this which is owned by ebay... argh) It's probably 20% per auction on average which is insane and it means anything under 10 bucks goes elsewhere--a local auctioneer (who doesn't charge 12) or the garage sale (lol at 10 bucks on an item in the garage sale). But it's going to end up driving me out of business on ebay. I'm only a small timer but this is absurd. There's a few things I can sell yet but profit wise what a joke.

Getting that much closer to needing a real job soon. Anybody got any openings? :(

I'm ok

other than the occasional stupid call (why do I keep paying these off anyway--at least most of the time it's a situation where they should've bet/won more I'd be shocked live if I was this bad of a payoff wizard) I'm playing fantastic. I'm making a lot of correct decisions and best of all--they're actually increasing $ for me. The only issue I have now is how long can this last because I've got no job leads (and no references to get one anyway). Even tournaments are +EV for me despite not really going deep in any of them (the biggest pots I lose I tend to make a great read on :( ) hopefully though that'll continue so I don't retire for the fifteenth time lol)

I did play really bad for two weeks this month and still ended up well so hopefully I won't play badly and see how much I end up then.

Now I need a place to live anyone need a roommate? (preferably in a good poker playing state/area)

ok I'm done bluffing

this is one of the weirdest eras of poker--everyone's super weak preflop but they're super calling stations postflop. this makes no sense . I keep bluffing these guys and they can't fold ridiculous calling hands. 99% of raise/fold situations they call. It's insanely stupid poker and it's killing me somehow I know they have nothing they know they have nothing but call anyway. I don't get it. Every time I bluff and get looked up I feel ridic but I have a hand and they fold how the hell do they know? Ugh game's so frustrating sometimes. Why do I torture myself playing idiots every day.

selling junk for $

A friend just gave me some of his stuff to sell so I guess I'm in the business of selling shit for money. Obviously my cut will be ridiculously low so it's not like I'm going to make much (unless 2 friends I know do the same thing then I'll have a full time gig for at least a year) So if you want shit out of your house (usually you have to do this one or two at a time though) and are in need/want $ for shit you won't use [I use the 2 year rule--if you haven't played/watched/used it in 2 years it goes] give me a ring!

what the hell

poker poker there's no skill... actually I need to stop one thing--making retarded calls. I know I'm beat call anyway--don't know if that's an online thing or what but god I hate myself. That little stuff adds up. At least I realize it right away and stop playing the rest of the day cause making dumb plays that bad can only lead to worse. Anyway, I'm selling off quite a bit of my stuff, my bro's stuff, random crap lying around. I need the dough more than the stuff. Man I need a job too... oh well.

my retirement from full time online poker

I've played so damn well the last two months making all sorts of sick correct calls, correct shoves, correct laydowns--and the results show--I'm down quite a bit. I really think I'm playing the best I've ever played and I've been hit by mathematical hell which hasn't ever happened to me two months in a row before and even if it does turnaround... I won't make enough to justify doing this. I've got to do something else (I've still got bonus dollars to clear but once that goes I'll be withdrawing even more $ out than I already have) I figure with the bad luck (it's so bad that one card that could beat me that hits the board I say outloud that hit him and it does seemingly every time so annoying lol) if this was live poker I'd be down somewhere around 10k. Glad it's not that bad lol. I have to eat and that costs $ ya know. At the very least it's killing my psych.

Anyway, for a shock to you eliters--I've been watching some movies as of late but mostly am just remembering why I don't watch movies in the first place lol. Some are fine but when even the ones everyone loves you don't--what's the point.

week's bets

here we go

MLB
Arizona to win WS 10/1

NFL
NO -3 -125 .5u
ATL +8.5 -115 .5u
Mia +6 -115 1u (actually I'll take them outright later in the week if I can)
NE +16.5 1u
SF +3 +110 .5u This seems like a trap game in SF's favor to me but I'm not sure enough
Chicago +3 +115 1u I've stated this a pure buy low sell high situation so let's go Bears!
Dallas -10.5 1u. I'm trying to see how this isn't going 27-7 or 27-10 dallas and I can't really think of how.

Ugh I need more books they don't want me betting ML's :(

NCAA
Kentucky +3.5 at South Carolina. This one's closer than it looks but I like Kentucky to play well here and a loss by 3 is a win for me so...
1u
Georgia +2 at Tennessee. I think Georgia's slightly better so I'd go with a PK line here. This is only a .5u play though because +2 sucks.
Oregon State -4 vs Arizona. Oregon State's at home vs Arizona. Both teams suck but Oregon State at home seems to be a better advantage than the traditional home field--I'll take it. 1u
Va Tech +6 -115 at Clemson. Anytime I can get a team like Va Tech the 6 vs Clemson I'm taking it. Clemson always underperforms every year. 1u Neither team has done much and I admit this Sep 29 - Won 17-10 vs North Carolina for VT scares the hell out of me.

Cincinnati +3.5 at Rutgers. I love this one. I think Cincy's the better squad. Rutgers is good but probably shouldn't be a ranked team--this is a 1.5u play for me. I hate that it's in rutgers though or this play would have been a lot bigger.

Nebraska +7 at Missouri. Only a small play here. Nebraska's body of work is better than Missouri's but Missouri had a week off. if the line was 6.5 I probably would lay off. .5u

NHL
Chicago 90/1 to win stanley cup
okay a bit of a homer bet but what the hell 1u (it's actually the best line out there lol)

Posted bets this year
NCAA 4-3 +1.8u
MLB 4-5 +3.3u

NFL
1-1 +.8 u

This week's ventures continued
MLB
Florida +180 then later +225 3u to win more u's WIN (yay) man that was too much juice in my favor I probably should have bet more oh well.
Florida +230 to win series
Arizona +160 to win series
Baltimore +240 to win series
(all win game 1 of 3 game set)
Washington +220 LOSS (wasn't thrilled about this like the Fla one)
2-1 +5u

NFL
Oakland ML +180

NCAA
Notre Dame +22
FAU +24
CAL ML +190
NC State +280
PIttsburgh +210
(only .5u's this week on those though)

Doesn't look like I'll have many more plays this week (Chicago/St.L/others not looking great atm)

picks of the week

I'll post the picks in the blog it'll at least keep the blog semi-active.

Anyway
Kansas State +14.5
Michigan State +7.5

NFL
St. Louis Rams (will bet this later in the week but I'm hoping for a +14 or +14.5 line before I do)
There are a few others like Arizona, Denver, and Minnesota (possibly Oakland) I might fire on if the line gets favorable but 2.5's and 6's are pretty rough lines to bet on.

If I could tease NE I'd have a teaser there as well.

MLB
V. Zambrano +180 I usually fade Halladay/Santana whenever I can get a good line out of it and Zambrano's not a god awful pitcher.

M. Basick +160 Don't know the mets pitcher so easy fade with this line.

Howell +220 vs NYY. Howell's not bad actually and fading the NYY with TB is the most +EV bet I think in all of MLB.

Of course I wouldn't hang around all the people that were there every day but for a week with gaming/boating/tubing/footballing/road trip/having a shitload of fun with a bunch of awesome dudes? priceless. Hope that happens again guys!

Will try to get pics up shortly.

applying moneyball to other sports?

just got that book--good read and it's so funny how many idiots screw things up or just blatantly lie about bashing it. anyway, is there a stat that's too important in say the NFL for pts scored/pts allowed or whatnot. I guess that's my task to figure it out. Also, in that book it said the MLB playoffs are a crapshoot--TOLD YOU SO. But there's a point I didn't make in my anti argument

In regards to poker everyone would prefer AK over 22 in texas holdem. But in holdem those 2's are favored over the AK. While in any individual tournament (such as the playoffs) it can be a crapshoot--over the long haul you'd take the 2's. So why is that everyone keeps predicting the AK over the 2's? I'll take my marginal edge in math because math never loses. Don't believe me? Just look at vegas. Do the casinos ever lose (nope) because math wins. (of course that being said I'd prefer AK over 22 without seeing the other persons hand first because 22 is in big trouble even against 33 but if you see that AK you know you are ahead)

Remember this advice the next time you place a wager. Am I betting on the better team or making the correct bet. If the royals are playing the yankees and are getting +334 (this line was out there early last season) you should bet on the royals. Pretty much any team can take one in four against any other team and if they do win one in four you come out ahead on your bet. Think about that kind of thing next time. Now had you bet on them you would have lost--but that's not the point. The point is in the long run you will win and your predictions will beat others. Results oriented analysis just leads to bad decisions later (ever see a sports manager/coach or someone you know do something stupid just because it worked once or didn't work once?). Happens all the time doesn't it? Now you don't make that mistake.

Later,
wheatrich

what the hell happened?

I feel pretty sad right now. I feel like everywhere I've ever been has been the wrong place but I have no idea where I'd even go. I'm not the type that probably will ever get into a serious relationship [not that I would ever cheat--just I can't tolerate any BS and I'm a completely honest person who has little fear of people--I'm not well liked as you can guess lol]. I need to make $ but I'd be shocked if I ever got a decent job.

I think I'm just doomed to live my life of misery because I can't see it getting better--ever right now. If I get a job I'll be miserable because I hate most people (okay hate's a strong word--dislike and can't stand) and you know that if you're reading this.

I guess I need to find that corner of the world where I can just live out and at least live in peace and quiet. That's probably my best option.
I have absolutely nothing going for me. I have no real friends, no real life, no real anything. of course most people would say go out and get one--where? The fucking bar? Oh wait I already know I won't like anyone in there--I can't stand smoking OR alcohol. I'm not into that whole church stuff either. Maybe I'm just supposed to be shunned out. No job leads--no friends--no... damn.

What the hell happened?

But you know something--I can't think of one thing I would trade for. Not a damn thing. I don't want to work for someone who'll just exploit me. I don't want to know more idiots than I already do. I don't want to deal with complete morons on a daily basis. I would be completely miserable every minute of every day. Right now I certainly can't say that. Maybe it's just me and who I was always going to be.

I guess I'm updating this

I've got a lot of sports stuff for sale so if you have a fav team or a sports card want list I hopefully have something you want.

I'll just skip the boring details of my personal life and bring you

bad beats--wheatrich's horrible luck on pokerstars continues. (I'm not playing there cash games anymore just a few tourns--you'll see why)

Finally, pokerstars, I said you were rigged for idiots and I thought maybe I was wrong--maybe I had just a super unlucky month or so. I was right the first damn time (hopefully a big sunday 215 finish [I have T and I'll just use it up] will erase the bad will between us)

These were all big hands in some low buyin horse tourns that I'm by far the best player in. (okay the $ here isn't serious but still)
I had aces full on the river go down to quads. He obviously had trips on fifth--I got better trips on sixth. I rivered boat--he rivered quads. That was only for third place in the chip count--instead I got crippled and out the next hand lol.

Different one. Razz. BTW--I hate razz. If you've ever played this game--you'd hate razz too. It's a pile of censored censored censored crap that needs to be killed as a game. You'd have to be insane to play this on a semi regular basis.

I raise (89)7 K bring in somehow calls. (note this was discussed quite a bit--the experts basically agree that you're an idiot for calling with a K in the hole (only KA2 really you could consider calling--and I don't like that much)--now let's continue) I catch a K. He catches a J. I of course bet, and he auto calls. Wait what? Sure I caught crap--but so did he. His crap is so much that he can't call another bet--basically he has to catch perfect perfect perfect not to get a J low. This is why that's a fold. But he didn't. On fifth I catch good--he catches a 2. Sixth same although he gets an A this time. Seventh I river an eight low--he rivered a seven. God fuck. To beat my eight (and a decent shot at a nine) he has to catch beyond perfect three cards. I'm lucky when I catch one perfect card much less three damnit. Well I've still got chips right?

Next hand same idiot
I raise three to a six--he calls. Catches a K on fourth I catch a T--of course this is another auto fold situation--he still calls. I pair the T on fifth but he catches a J. Okay he's got a king low and can improve to a jack low--I have four to a ten low--obviously I bet he auto calls (hmmm he's got to realize he's in trouble here right? okay idiot...) He catches (why wouldn't he) I make a second pair and it goes check check. River he makes a ten nine low--of course I make three pair.

The biggest annoyance in razz--three goddamn pair after an idiot called with crap after four against your good hand. Sometimes you just go insane.

Last hand I had A23 and made a 7 low--other guy rivers a 6 low. Now you see why I hate razz. I played those tourns perfect and got nothing. I think I'll just stick to h/l where at least major suckouts against me usually only count for half the damn pot.

This happened to me even in the NLh tourns not on stars--so maybe it's just a stars/tourn thing that other sites have conspired to make an idiot do about the dumbest thing possible and win just to get me on tilt. Well I won't have any of it!

(btw--cash games are going pretty strong yet but with the games appearing to be toughening up a bit winrates are going to go down--which makes one of two things--either I have to take a few shots up--or get a real job. If I had a decent offer on the latter I'd take it right now. Obviously I don't lol.)

pokerstars is rigged

I've had one of the biggest losing streaks of my life and pokerstars wants to crush my spirit with a damn hammer.

Here's how it works
Retarded guy has an absolute absurd hand in a big pot allin--no matter what in the hell he's hoping for HE'S 80% TO CATCH!!!

When they have something reasonable they'll lose and eventually they do--but man do they ever hit me good.

The tourns seem okay because people actually fold over there lol. Although I do have this VERY annoying tendancy to lose with QQ KK and AA against crap. I am NOT the fav I'm supposed to be with those hands--how do I know you ask? Because every damn tourn I get a big pair allin twice and I never win both that's why.

Anyway, I'm done with stars cash games--I will finish up on stars but I feel like I should have so much $ right now it's insane.

Today's retards--guy calling with 3 outs--hit. Limit holdem guy calling capped preflop with A3o--then cap flop with the damn 3. I mean what the hell do I have to do to beat these guys? It's nuts--I never win big pairs HU there it's sick.

Guess it was just one of those things--stud h/l--they'd chase ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on fifth and somehow end up scooping the entire pot against my ridiculously far superior hand. Omaha h/l--they'd chase the low--never missed no matter how hard I tried to get them off of it. Omaha--don't bother getting me started.

Razz--if I get four to a five low--I at best make a jack low.

Man I wish I was exaggerating oh well. I'll use the remaining $ for some tourns and see how that goes. My bankroll is still fine it's just I'm rather steamed about everything.

The one plus about lack of job--I get to catch up on videogames. I'm still 3 years behind.

My trip to the WSOP in Las Vegas

*warning you need to be 21 or over to gamble
*warning post may be extremely long—I provided cliff notes for you

Anytime you're doing something for the first time you are kind of nervous and apprehensive and that was the case for my first flight which was on this trip. I flew on skywest and that was pretty smooth to the Denver airport—which isn't really in Denver but whatever. The Denver airport is freakishly huge. You have to take the tram to get from one part to another. But if there's anywhere in the world you need to go that airport has a flight to it—or ten. They have boards everywhere with full detail on arrivals and departurers which is very helpful. It has so many stores I consider it several malls in one. After my wait there to catch the next flight I ended up in Las Vegas. The plane was Ted (same as united)—I'm not sure why we need water safety info if the flight isn't going over any water but whatever. Also that plane shakes a bit with a nice big noise. It's kinda unnerving. That airport isn't quite as big as Denver's but you still need to take a tram. Basically the only real difference is that as soon as you get off you can gamble in the slot machines literally right in front of you as you get off the plane. Luckily for me, when I got off the plane and eventually figured out just where I was going, a chauffeur was waiting for me. Yeah, I bet you've never had someone waiting for you with your name on it. Anyway, it wasn't a limo, just a town car but it took away the hassle of getting a cab and I went straight to the Rio to check in.

Check in is a bit of a hassle since you have to work with an employee who forced me to make a deposit (which I later learned was optional and at the time I thought he was just screwing with me but I couldn't do anything about it). I wasn't planning on ordering anything from the room so I got out of there without having to give him a full deposit which was my entire $ at the time. I rested for a bit and then had to meet the poker room representative to get my spending cash and then I just roamed a bit and went to sleep for the next day's tourn.

I was in event 36 a limit holdem shootout for 1500. This meant I had to win my table to cash and it was a rather tough table. With blinds low in the beginning I just laid back and waited for good hands and still lost every hand in the first hour to get to 950 but I had 1625 at the hour 2 break and felt okay about my chances until the blinds were 50/100 with 100/200 and with only 1625 chips that's kind of big. But someone had sat down directly to my right about 30 minutes ago... and who was it? Chris “Jesus” Ferguson the 2000 world champion—who was also playing in the other event that day. He outflopped me three straight hands. In one of the hands I folded a pair of aces (yeah on the river in limit—turn was check check) on the river when there was nothing I could beat and he flipped over a full house on the turn after flopping two pair. The one I got knocked out on I had two eights on the button and reraised his preflop raise and the flop came QJJ and he had Q3 and I had no chips left to fold and that was it [actually in this hand I picked up a tell on him]. The other one was just me having big cards not catching against his pair.

I played okay—I wish I played better but there wasn't a whole lot I could do and I was a bit card dead. Our table was a good fun atmosphere of a table but Ferguson is just a luckbox and a good player lol. Of course with my chips he busted out next and went back over to the other tourn. I then just walked around and ate at the sports kitchen in the rio (mostly guy food like burgers and pizza—it's rather quick unless you're eating at about 3 pm in which case they are super slow). It's maybe six seven minutes from the poker section.

As for the poker room during the WSOP events (they're building a new one—but that won't be for wsop action) just think of 200+ tables with poker players filling them. That's what it is. I was three feet away railbirding Greg Raymer and Phil Hellmuth when they were sitting very close to the rail. Unfortunately, I was bad luck for Greg since he got knocked out soon after being just short of the bubble but Hellmuth won that event for that magic bracelet that he'll never shut up about. As for the TV stuff—he really only blows up about once per day. He's usually extremely quiet which is unlike Mike Matusow—who never shuts up. I'm surprised someone hasn't just decked him by now. I also railbirded Johnny Chan during his Chinese poker big game against Tim Phan and someone I didn't know wearing a full tilt cap. (this was the same rail lol) The tourns all have clocks on big flat screens on the side so you know exactly when levels end/breaks are (but not so much on what they're going up to—which is usually more important).

On tuesday, it was time for some side game action. Unfortunately the Rio has super long waiting lists so I took the shuttle to Caesars Palace [the rio has shuttles to anything harrahs owns] and then walked to the Bellagio and also walked through Paris/Bally's. The last two have a poker room in name only—it's like 6 tables max apiece. So even though the waiting list was 2 people on it—no point because there were like 2 ongoing tables. The Bellagio has a nice poker room but it was completely full (although you should see the fountain go off if you're around there whenever it does) so I went back to Caesars even though I was interested in that PLO tourn that Paris had. Anyway, the cash games at Caesars were fine. Most of the players were ones that either had played or were playing later WSOP events. Caesars has decent tourns though if you've got the 100 bucks/200 bucks or so (they both are addon I believe) to play. But I was here for the side games and so I played. I sat down in the first ½ game I could get into. This game is different than online it's a 100 min 500 max buyin. The rake is quite higher than you online players are used to (it's 10% there) So as you suspected, the 100 buyiners aren't as good as the 500 buyiners. (500 is immensely deep for ½—online it's usually a 200 max buyin for those stakes) The first day some supposedly top european tournament player was in so he obviously was playing very loose but we didn't really tangle that much. That honor went to a guy who later tangled with me when my top set filled up against his flush draw that rivered. I lost track of the time and missed the last shuttle so I had to walk all the way back to the Rio. That took quite a bit of time and I had the fun game of not only where the hell am I going but also ignore the call girls. And my feet were getting sore from all the walking. (bought in for the minimum 100—ended up over 500+) [I later learned the Venetian had a new room but I didn't know where that was—it was right next to a place I could have shuttled to—oh well perhaps next year]

The dealers are very good and most usually play online except they were a bit inconsistent on the pull back rule (basically if someone threw in 2 bucks but the raise was 15 the inexperienced dealers let the guy pull his 2 back when that shouldn't happen). The other thing I didn't like about that place is that half of the cocktail waitresses are over 40 years old. Now normally this isn't an issue—but they're wearing togas. Yuck—in other words don't look. Also, there was a huge difference in the younger ones vs the older ones in terms of service. The younger ones were very good and quick about getting the drinks/orders. The older ones were horribly bad and immensely slow about it. Made me wonder why they still had jobs actually they were that bad. One of the things I really liked about that game was that you could have 100 bills on the table so that was pretty cool betting 100 straight cash.

Wednesday, I went back for the games and had doubled my stack (from a 200 buyin) when I got very lucky to raise preflop with 56 hearts and checked through a 10 4 7 flop to catch a 3 when all heck broke loose and I busted two sets to win a 920 pot. Then I didn't play so well and lost a big pot with QQ allin preflop against A10 off but I still end up really well. Discussions went on about other poker rooms and their games and some crazy one in the Luxor with ½ blinds being a 50 min/max buyin game. That game has to be insane in terms of play because that is a very gambling structure.

Thursdays game was bad in comparison to the first two days because when people raised other people folded which almost never happened in the first day game. It was also bad in the terms that I lost over 200 with AA HU. Twice I got dealt with it—twice I lost big pots with it. The first hand I think I made a bad river call but hand two was just bad luck—they both had rather scary boards so I couldn't push further. However I still ended up +110 in the game. Unfortunately, the Rio security people blocked off the main way to the poker room making sure you have to go through the gaming expo which should be called poker advertisment land. Plus side—plenty of models Minus side—that was it. You could get all sorts of free crap and even spin the wheel for free crap. I can't imagine what possesses people to stand in line 20 minutes for a deck of cards or a water bottle. I think the free notepad was for writing down all the rooms even I have never heard of. People love their free crap. Also I happened to have eaten lunch literally one table from Jennifer Harman and Marco Traniello. I didn't realize this until I looked up from eating my burger so I wasn't stalking them lol.. Also, another chapter in the things that don't make sense to me—wheel of fortune machine. The dollar machine has a 4 mil jackpot—the quarter machine has a 200k jackpot and yet people are playing the 200k one while the 4 mil one has room. First you shouldn't play the slots—and then you play the MUCH crappier machine. Such morons. I did lose a buck on the slots (darn no four mil) so on to things you also shouldn't do like sports bet I almost bet on the cubs twice that week and I would have won both bets! Grrrr! Oh well I wouldn't have bet that much. I'm a bit too conservative by nature. I didn't play any of the other games because they are -EV—the min bet is like 10 bucks which in some of those games quickly becomes 50 bucks a hand which I wasn't prepared to lose directly to a casino.

At this point I'm also completely sick of the show. I stayed in the Masquerade section of the Rio and they have a free show going on 7 times a day. Now the first time is fine but this was about the twentith time I've had to come across it and having to dodge all the morons who line up at the furthest point back possible so you can't walk around them got a bit on me as I was going to leave. (also, they advertise their stuff like crazy—so if another one of those male dancer commercial things pop up in my head I might go kill something) Oh and I found $1 water bottles at the Baskin Robbins on the 2nd floor—I highly recommend taking advantage of them because you can't get that cheaper anywhere. Even a basic small softdrink is 2 bucks or so while a bottle of beer is 5. Food and a drink costs around 12 bucks but you really only have to eat once a day because of the size of the meal. (then again I only eat once a day anyway)

On Friday at 4 AM I got up to leave and of course the check out computers are down so it's a handle just getting my deposit back. Overall I made somewhere in the 1200 range in the side games. I got another chauffeur back to the airport and had to show the wad of hundreds to the family to show them that maybe poker isn't as bad as the stereotype in their head. I had a good trip albeit I'm not a fan of the whole atmosphere. If you drink, smoke, and like clubbing (or even strippers/hookers whatever) it's definitely the town for you. (of course I do none of those things)

Anyway, that was my trip; I hope you enjoyed (or at least tolerated) the read.

CLIFF NOTES
I went to vegas, made more money than some of you do in weeks, sat next to a pro, had fun.

my trip to vegas next month

Yeah, I won a seat to one of the events (limit holdem) so for the week of July 23-29th I'll be in Las Vegas.
I may go to St. Louis as well for the karter convention the week before so I'll be travelling and probably be pretty broke lol. I'll be sure to let you all know how I do and how the trips went. Who knows maybe someone reading this I'll meet up there.
Later, wheatrich.

playing wow and my old collection I'm sorting through

The good thing about having no job is that I finally have time to do other things--a friend of mine is letting me play on his WOW (world of warcraft) account till that runs out in about a week or so I'm trying to get in some play there--it's a freaking addicting game. Also, I'm going through my collection of sports cards (baseball, basketball, football, and hockey--and some others that I've already pitched) The remaining stuff in my basketball collection is going (whatever jordan stuff I have left is most of what remains), as is a bunch of extra cards for various sports teams. I also have to decide what sets are going and try to further fill that wish list I still have. If you're a good collector who has a want list of various cards throughout mostly the 90's--I should be able to help you and hopefully vice versa. That and some videogames got to go. It's going to be over half my collection so it has and will take up a ton more time than it already has. Oh well, hopefully I can get a few bucks for them. Feels kinda good to sort through that stuff though.

Anyway, back to leveling up my freaking priest/checking out what prices I could get off of ebay.

Oh and I have a matchup in the-elite.net competition this year (surprised me too) it's at the end of this month and if I win I'll get killed but I think I'll take the win since that would make 3 prediction contests I have a matchup win and few people can claim that (I don't know if penev won a the-elite matchup or not so it could just be me but I'm against a former strong opponent so I think I'm going down).
and I have matchups in the scopinfo contest (okay that one didn't surprise me at all) that you'll have to go and vote me for or don't vote for me--either way vote. I have a matchup on Jun 26, Jul 12, Jul 27. I'm the favorite to win the group by the pundits but I don't think I will. I could even finish third but I'm predicting I finish 2nd to advance and that other group doesn't have a powerhouse so there's a shot I could advance pretty far in this thing.

wha....

Yeah it's been awhile.

Derrek Lee gets hurt on a play that never should have happened...
Okay the cubs get fucked world stays normal.
The clippers won a playoff series...
Hmmm--what sign of the apolcalypse is this? It's got to be five or six. What's seven? That'd be a handy piece of information to know.
I'm busy for a bit and will be off most of the summer--I'll post anything interesting that happens to me in here but probably nothing else.
NFL draft--what the hell is buffalo thinking? Houston? anyone thinking??? (no they never do)
Bears drafted all defense and a returner in round 2--okay we really need a returner but round 2? damn. We needed a CB too but no TE? ugh.

NHL playoffs--Detroit lost!!! Okay my rooting interest is all but over (the Avs still need to go down).

I'm almost finished with school--I'm jobless so maybe I'll travel. I'm leaning toward California and Las Vegas (only if I qualify for a WSOP event). If not vegas--I'll go to St.Louis for a cubs/cards game in enemy territory.

So, if you think I should travel your way feel free to mention why here. As for the next two weeks I've got finals to prepare for because if I don't pass them I not only won't get my degree--but probably will be kicked out of the school (yeah no pressure... lol)

And if any of you have job openings for not exactly the best math person I'm very open to relocation. Let me know.

With regards to poker--after the past few months debacle I'm leaning heavily away from it. I did make $ through poker and there's a number if I ever go down to I'm done with poker (but if this summer I get no job I don't have a choice--I have to eat somehow). Good thing I've got enough $ to survive for a bit yet.

Anyway, have fun everyone or try to.
